Martell Rising Personalities Awards

It was a night of decadence. Free flow of Martell dressed in Aloe Vera and lime juice which was super delicious and hitting the sweetest spot ever. I was the host of the night and enjoyed the banter with the beatboxer and even attempting to "break it down" with him spitting the rhythms, me yes me ... the sort of wannabe G Rhymes-master. :) But hey looks like the crowd had fun and enjoyed laughing out loud with me. I specify, with in this instance. Well i would like to thank my mother the bearer of my complex DNA struture which encoded this series "no qualms making a monkey of oneself for the joy of others" . I had loads of fun too twirling around to the infectious beats of Yelle and boy am I dreamin up of the Reebok high cut old style sneakers. Nostalgia.

So the winners of the awards were all very humble and obviously overcame the challenges in their lives by sniffing out where their diamonds laid amongst the dirt. Dirt being the distraction, naysayers and noise from the outside and inside polluting our systems and shutting us down by losing sights of our goals and aspirations. Yes it is a little cheesy but most things are when it is true. Yes like 'em cliches.

There is the option of reaching out and surging forward and then there is the other option of shutting down our senses and going on auto pilot. I reckon the best way is to check with your body... Where is it aching? Where is it holding stress and tension? Sometimes, we shoulder so much of what we cannot verbalise.

And verbalise I tried, rhyming and rapping a Public Service Announcement which warned the public not the drink and drive and this was obviously a joint for free booze and debauchery, well at least with posh canapes. This beat boxing theme has emerged in my life twice this week, why? Because it is better when you rhyme and for everyone you make, you keep a dime. ok, that was well lame!
